Elections 2016 Luxembourg Staff Committee

Dear colleagues,

by voting list 3 Vote the Change ( by choosing at least 8 candidates, from this list exclusively ),

you will support a team with new ideas, ready to put them into action in the interest of all staff.

Up until January 2016, for more than 2 years, I was an active member of the CSHT Luxembourg ( Local Health & Safety Committee ). Important topics discussed and acted upon during this period were Asbestos in the JMO and the evacuation of Staff to alternate temporary accommodation, until the JMO 2 is built. Staff representatives tried to ensure that decisions were taken as soon as possible, in the interest of Staff.

Personally, I feel that we ought to have moved Staff out of the JMO, ten or fifteen years ago. Everyone knew that there was asbestos in the building. This was one of the reasons given in 1998 for Eurostat having to move out of the JMO, into offices above the Auchan! If the building had been evacuated years ago, then the JMO 2 could have been constructed. Most Staff could have been repatriated from the multiple rented buildings, to work in one modern building, that is EMAS compliant, as well as being a lot more secure and cheaper to operate.

Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen,

Wählt list 3 Vote the Change ( mindestens 8 Kandidatinnen bzw. Kandidaten ankreuzen, nur auf dieser Liste) und Ihr unterstützt ein Team mit neuen Ideen, die wir im Interesse aller Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter auch umsetzen werden.

Bis im Januar 2016 war ich – für mehr als 2 Jahre – aktives Mitglied von CSHT Luxembourg ( Local Health & Safety Committee ). Wichtige Themen in dieser Zeit waren die Asbest-Problematik im JMO und die Evakuierung der Belegschaft in andere, temporäre Gebäude, bis JMO 2 gebaut sein wird. Als Vertreterinnen und Vertreter der Belegschaft versuchten wir sicherzustellen, dass möglichst rasch Entscheidungen im Sinne der Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter getroffen werden.

Persönlich glaube ich, dass man die Belegschaft schon vor 10 oder 15 Jahren aus dem JMO hätte abziehen sollen. Alle wussten, dass das Gebäude mit Asbest belastet ist. Das war auch einer der Gründe, welche 1998 angeführt worden waren, warum Eurostat das JMO verlassen und Büros über dem Auchan beziehen musste. Wenn man also das Gebäude bereits vor vielen Jahren evakuiert hätte, hätte man inzwischen das JMO 2 bauen können. Grosse Teile der Belegschaft hätten aus einer Vielzahl von gemieteten Gebäuden für die Arbeit in ein modernes Gebäude rückgeführt werden können, welches sowohl EMAS konform, aber auch viel sicherer und billiger im Betrieb wäre.

Um mich weiter für Eure Interessen einsetzen zu können, brauche ich Eure Stimme!
