Social dialogue in the EUThe Council adopted a new EU Recommendation on strengthening social dialogue in the European Union. The Recommendation is above all targeted at the national governments and social partners. While the proposed measures set out in this Recommendation are not legally binding for the Member States, they could have important repercussions on the future organisation of national cross-sector and sectoral social dialogue. The question is whether the European Institutions will follow this recommendation when negotiating with their own staff and with their trade-unions. June 2023
The European Commission has
published a new initiative with the aim to strengthen social dialogue in
Europe at the EU level and in the Member States at the national level. The
initiative comprises two texts:
